Good, I hope they are successful with this attempt.

But honestly I was hoping the release of the V1.4 flash was taking so long because there where working on some real bad ass features.

I cant wait to get 1.4 and I really do hope there are some extreem features for it :)...As for the clone issue,lets just hope they make it unuseble with these crappy modbo's...

Note thats my own oppinion stating that modbos are crap.

I asked the Matrix Team about being able too implement DVD+R DL media working on the next firmware upgrade 1.40. But like everyone else's email it said about putting the protection in the firmware first. So looks like it will be awhile yet.

I wish they would release it as-is, then have a 1.41 with anti clone protection. No, I dont want to flash the v9 in my sig with it. I sold that one, just havent taken the time to update my sig yet.

Well, the Matrix team has been promising the 1.4 flash for a while now (8+ months I think), and the Infinity clones only showed up a few months ago.

I think its too little too late at this point in time. If the the cloners are able to use their old flashed at this time then then that means they can use their existing hardware to decrypt and crack their latest firmware. The infinity team cant change their firmware encryption without changing their existing hardware at this time. All the cloners need to do then is release their own flash and encourage users to use theirs instead of the one supplied by the infinity website. Kinda sucks. :(

Yes thet makes sense G, however it would make the clone companies have to do a little work... to get their fingers dirty. They seem to want things done for them.
Also if enough peoples clones die due to thinking they have an original Infinity chip
and they use the official flash, it will dirty the name of the clone chips and slow down their sales...

They wont let their investment go to waste. Either that or they will just make another hardware version to bypass their checks, prolly call it somestupidclone V2.

On the other hand its futile for the infinity team, they are just punishing their loyal users just to try to put cloners on hold, its inevitable.

I understood that a Y-fix would be included for PAL games, similar to that apparently offered by the Crystal team. What I don't understand is the purpose for it.

Am I right that this means that the chip will then be able to play PAL games on an NTSC console, without patching?

What the Y-dix thing does.

When playing PAL/NTSC games with PAL60 option on.

The screen gets misplaced in the y positioning.

Y-fix fixes that.

PAL games should run on a NTSC console regardless of the fix.

But it would still be in 50HZ mode. Thats were the PAL60 come in.

It forces the game to run in PAL mode, but with 60Hz instead of 50Hz.

Firmware takes time to create and even more time to test.

You don't want faulty updates that could end up damaging your system.

So try and show some support to MI team.

To access Infinity's configuration menu Press and hold TRIANGLE + CIRCLE and press reset. From this screen it's under "screen fix" If memory serves me correctly!

I bought a modbo and got it installed a while ago but back then i didnt know it was a crappy clone.

Because i dont want to pay for another install and im not that good at soldering so if i tried to re-solder the chip to the mainboard i think i would probably break it. So, if i buy an original Matrix Infinity will i be able to unsolder the points only to the chip then swap chips?

Yes you should be able to but it all depends how good the previose install was.

Yes you can. The only points you'll need to change are directly at the chip, with a small chance that you'll have to redo the ground (which is the easiest wire anyways)

well, its been almost 2 weeks now since 1.4 was 'rumored' to be released, even finalized and now just making sure it works on the consoles, and still nothing. Starting to wish I went O2 as they were cheaper and seem to have their updates and managers out fairly fast. Oh well, can't change the past. Hope TMT makes the wait worth it.

I have backup of splintercell3 dvd and my all MI cannot boot this disc(other chips muppet,mars 805 SE,magic5x,D.M.S. boot this game flawleslly)all time give me red screen(please insert ps2 game)And this all MI can boot other game(cd,cd-r,dvd,dvd-r)
Anyone have this problem and frimware 1.4 can solve this problem?

Well I have gotten several emails from luke and he said the firmware was in final testing and that he would look into the splinter cell 3 issue. I heard it might come out longer than expected. I hope this gives you more info.

Memos everybody can see that you are extreemly anctios about the new firmware release,but thats not a reason to post after every second reply that you want it,it will be released and nagging about it wont make a difference,all we can do is wait.
