Some web sites have PS2 game saves available to download. How do you transfer files between PS Memory Card and PC? I vaguely remember seeing a device that does that. Does anybody have any info on this device? I don't want anything fancy. I just wanna be able to transfer game saves. Also, how much does it cost (roughly)?
Any info is appreciated.
Thanks

Thank you for your answer.
Is there any simpler method where I can physically connect the memory card to PC?
Thanks

I think there is stuff like Action Replay and something called Xport you can use but you have to buy it.

Thank you all.
I haven't downloaded anything yet. I was planning to do so after I get the device.
I heard that AR would corrupt the data transferred. Can someone please confirm this?
How about Xport? Does it corrupt data too? How much does it cost?
Thanks

Is there Japanese and North American version of Max Drive? Are they imconpatible with each other? (i.e. transferring Jp gasme saves using NA Max Drive) I'm asking because I have both Jp and NA games saves on my memory card. I just wanna make sure either can take care of both.
Thanks

XPort works fine for me. I can backup/restore games saves fine. XPort will cost you around 20 pounds.
You can also use XPort to use the MC exploit to load HDA/HDLoader from your MC if you don't have a mod-chip.

Use Action Replay MAX EVO. I think it was around $20-30 when I brought it. Hell, it even comes with a USB stick.

Datel's Memory Manager software corrupts your memory card if you use the Move or Delete commands (Move copies and then deletes, and delete is the problem). Don't touch either of those commands and you'll have no problems. Delete files from the USB drive with your PC, and delete files from the memory card using the Browser.
As for the question about Japanese saves. Any Japanese characters in the file name will display as ?, but you can still usually copy the files. Occasionally, they show up as corrupted data in Datel's software though. AR MAX just came out in Japan recently, labeled as Pro Action Replay version 3, and it costs at least 9000 yen. I don't have it yet, and probably won't get it until sites like Zero Memory and BeNatural get some good hackers making codes for it, since the official Japanese AR codes aren't that great or in large supply, and those two sites provide plenty of unofficial codes. Until then, I'll stick with AR2V2, since they hack those codes on both sites currently.
if you using old version of ARMAX yeah memory manager corrupts memory card.
but newer ARMAX EVO 3.30+ doesn't have that problem.

I've got the old version of ar max I think. But it doesnt seem like it corrupted my mc. Althougt when I'm in the memorycardmananger the exploits that I made to saves using savebuilder shows up as corrupted data and you cant copy delete or do anything with them. How do I solve this problem?
I just want to get the exploit onto mc.

I use AR MAX EVO to move gamesaves from MC to PC, but you should look into Pelican Accessories' CodeBreaker (ver 9):
http://www.fadfusion.com/selection.php?product_item_number=20261400007
http://www.buy.com/retail/product.asp?sku=50013836&SearchEngine=Froogle&SearchTerm=50013836&Type=PE&Category=Game&dcaid=17379
If you have your own USB drive, it is better than AR MAX. It has better support for USB drives and is ~1/2 the price (usually $20 in retail stores).

You may use Action Replay Max or Max Drive and a USB stick to meet your need.
select "Action Replay Max" or "Max Drive" in google, you may find a download resource.
Not all the USB stick can be used, try your luck.

Don't use AR MAX transfer your save data between two memory cards and do not use AR MAX delete your save data,it will be all right.

i have a interesting problem with this. apparently, with action replay i can save my files from memory card to pen drive, but when i try to copy it the other way around, it fails? i always get the failed to read error.
i know my pen drive is fine because i tested it out with code breakers, and it works fine. problem with that is, there are a lot more saves for action replay max than code breakers.

is there a version of ExecFTPS (or a similar program) that you can connect via IDE cable like hdd dump, I would like to be able to dump roms/mp3s without the hassle of setting up a network for my ps2

I do that with LaunchElf. ;) It's free, it works, it recognizes even my USB watch.
And it does not modify the saves, unlike all other softwares, which encodes, compress, change the icons, and so on !
Use LaunchElf !

So just use the Code Breaker for the transfers. There's a program out there called PS2 Save Builder that can convert saves between all of the commercial save transfer devices.

Use the Max Drive. It works like a charm (just don't get crazy with it like copying multiple saves at a time) and you should be fine.
You can buy the max drive (usb pen stick) alone or in a combo pack. Its called AR MAX Evo. This combo pack comes with Cheat codes and the usb stick.
Xport works also but you have to connect wires and stuff. max drive is your best bet since its USB.
EDIT: Yeah any save can be converted with the right tools. PS2 save builder is your best bet. Also I use PS2 ID changer to change it from PAL to NTSC.
