Hi all,

I'm trying to put a coaxial (spdif) output, since I cannot use optical output here.

I found out the optical component on ps2 is a JST K-A component, but I cannot able to find any information about that.

I can remember this component just have 3 pins, like this one:

pin 1 - GND
pin 2 - TX (transmitter)
pin 3 - +5Vcc

Just using pin 1 for GND and pin 2 as center on my spdif (coaxial) should works? Anyone have tried this before or read someone else tried this before?

I could be off, but the signal being send out is a modulated light signal. This light signal is converted to a regular digital signal on the recieving end and decoded. This would have to be converted to get the regular digital signal. There are conversion boxes out there for 60 CAD.

Thanks for the infos.

In reality I want to rip off AC3 and DTS files from PS2 games.

For example, how to extract AC3 files from MGS2 ?

If I just connect PS2 via Toslink or coaxial to my sb card, I'll can recording in stereo way only, and not into multi-channel format.

the fact that you can't record the whole sound stream should be only a fault of your soundcard....
since if you wire up a rca to have a coaxial out from the psx directly to the TOSLINK output, all you have is a copy of the bitstream in a 0 - 5V logic instead of light - no light.

if i understood correctly when you use coax on your s/c you can rip everything, if you use TOSLINK then you can not.
lemme know ;-)
