InfoNES doesn't have a save state. I'm not sure what those options do. I think they save a game's SRAM file.

most NES games that I had back in the day did not give the option to save they auto-saved my game or didn't support saving.....
the save files have a .srm exstention... and will appear where you have the saves go... first partition/directory that you selected when you started the system....

omegatron:
From your earlier posts in this thread it is clear that you were then using the old pre-HDD version of infoNES, whereas most advice you will find here refers to the new HDD version, upgraded by KaylaKaze.
If you are still using the old version, I'm afraid you are wasting your time. Get the new one instead, at http://www.ps2-scene.org/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=6163
Best regards: dlanor
PS: The new version has no savestate support, but will automatically save the standard SRM files in a folder on HDD that you select when configuring the EMU. This should make it work with all games that use normal NES game saves. (eg: "Final Fantasy" games etc.) However, there is some kind of bug in the save path parsing, so you should avoid using names with 'special' characters in the names of the save partition and/or the save folder. But if you stick to normal alphanumeric characters then all should be well.
