I download my saves in the .max format. You open the save with savebuilder, create a new folder on the desktop, rename it (the new folder) to the same name in the Root/ID block ie something like BASLUS-20895, then left click and select all the files in the save, and then right click to extract them to the folder you made. You can then transfer that folder to your MC in whatever method you usually use. I use execftps myself.

When you open the save file, in the root/id block there will be a name. BASLUS-20895 was just an example I was using. Every game will have a different name. Just name the new folder the same name that is in that block for your save file. Let me know if this helps.

Here are the instructions that I learned from maybe they'll work for you.
download ps2 save builder
open the file with that tool
look at the root ID : example = mygame1
create a temporary directory called after the Root ID (in this case mygame1)
extract all the files to the "mygame1" directory
now open your ftp prog and the ftp on your ps2 and transfer the folder "mygame1" to the MC
you are done -_-
Thanks to Den Leiw for the original post. :)

1.Just transfer to the main directory on the MC. Do not place it in the BADATA sub-folder. Put it where all your regular game saves are stored. If your still not sure where, just save one of your games on the MC, then place your folder in the same directory where that save is.
2. Try the codejunkies site.
3. Glad to help if I can.

it sez it is corrupted if you dont have the icon.sys file (and the other one, w/e it is)
It is probably not corrupt, just missing that file
