I don't have permission to post in the news section so...
I visited suprnova.org this morning. Everything seemed fine at first until I reloaded one horu later:
Greetings everybody,
As you have probably noticed, we have often had downtimes. This was because it was so hard to keep this site up!
But now we are sorry to inform you all, that SuprNova is closing down for good in the way that we all know it.
We do not know if SuprNova is going to return, but it is certainly not going to be hosting any more torrent links.
We are very sorry for this, but there was no other way, we have tried everything.
Thank you all that helped us, by donating mirrors or something else, by uploading and seeding files, by helping people out on IRC and on forum, by spreading the word about SuprNova.org.
It is a sad day for all of us!
Please visit SuprNova.org every once in a while to get the latest news on what is happening and if there is anything new to report on.
As we wish to maintain the nice community that we created, we are keeping the forums and irc servers open.
Thank you all and Goodbye!
sloncek & the rest of the SuprNova Team

Most of Suprnova's torrents came from Lokitorrent anyway.

this is good if u look at it this way, warez has become tooo public so many p2p proggs now have warez flowing thru them, whatever happened to haveing a tightnit (sp?) community of people who can juss grab the rlses, and this would intern stop the lameness, and selling of warez, also the security of all the grps would be intact. I think its good that these p2p proggs are getting shut down, now n00bz cant get their hands on warez.

Its too bad that suprnova is closing but there is the somewhat new www.torrentspy.com left. I haven't really used it much but from what I've seen, it looks pretty good.

yeah bitconsle is hosting there site off shore so the mpaa and riaa cant touch them ;)

but the users are the one that takes the blame. mpaa, dreamworks, touchstone pictures, the list goes on, hire a IP enforcement agency to set up fake nodes and catch users ips. then they email the ISP's abuse about it. they your isp will yell at you :P

when will the government just learn that the sales of movies, music, and games has gone up.............way the f*ck up even with piracy. also when will they learn that some smartass programmer out there will just make a new p2p proggie that has some kind of loophole to get past the laws

ok kazza is the same way (no central track/peers are the trackers) and you saw what happend to it. the users were the ones in trouble. i would rather a site gets shut down than a fine for a copyright showing up in my mail. plus the talk of exeem was before suprnova was shutdown. im sure the government has stopped their progress on exeem :D its only a matter of time before they just outlaw bittorrent the program altogether :chinscrat

There are good sites still going strong that don't scare easy like http://www.piratebay.org, their page with legal threats (http://static.thepiratebay.org/legal/) grows but removed links remains '0'. I really thought M$ would make them remove the links to Halo2, they succeeded with many other sites, but hell no, despite M$'s attempts to threaten their webhosting (who use the same kickass lawyer btw).
This is my favorite:

Ok, now you are just speculating what you cant prove. It will be MUCH harder to destroy exeem because there will not be 1 person you download the file from, because it is a torrent, so RIAA cant corrupt it.
So please dont down talk peoples work if you havent seen it.
If your mad that your free file sharing is gone. Go buy the stuff.

to those that think that riaa and mpaa etc go only after the website that hosts torrents and that if u dl on suprnova u are safe (instead of kazaa where u get caught) u are wrong. download and use the program named "protowall" by bluetack and u will see that mpaa and others monitor the torrents, who dls and uls on them (especially seeders) and they inform your isp and same stuff that would happen if u downloaded on kazaa. run protowall and use an updated blacklist (use BLM the block list manger to update your protowall ips) and you will constantly see people that try to connect to you. it'll make you rethink how safe you are using torrents

just the fact that you think when you use kazza that you are getting the file from one person shows how much you know. why would that button have been there that said "find more sources" IF YOU ONLY GOT IT FROM ONE PERSON. do us a favor and run kazza and download a file and then click the "+" next to the file to show you what USERS you are getting the file from.

i just read up a little on exeem and it sounds cool, but i dont understand why the suprnova team would openly develop this program while having legal problems..
edit: didnt read close enuf, apparently exeem has been arround before this stuff happened with suprnova, my bad
do any of u think the progress with exeem will stop because of the recent news?
and also, i am not a pirate. i believe in "try before you buy" and also think it is fair to download a copy of something if my original is to scratched up to work

i jus read a post by someone saying that exeem will have an upload limit feature, does this meen less ul speed = less dl speed for the user, or less ul speed = less speed for everyone else?
if it meens the second one then bt will be doomed by every persons own greed

exeem does sound cool but in the end all p2p proggies will get targeted after they become 2 big. if it is released then lets just use it until it is shutdown.
