Ok... well lots of mod ideas...

Case mods...
Take the ps2 unit cut in half, and add either another Bigger half to eithre side, adding 2 inches in space

For mine I am adding two of the bigger halves, but adding onto the smaller side, like this

Mine complete, A dead Ps2 for basic parts, then a ps2 shells bigger half replacing the dead ps2's smaller half. this would be to put in a DVD burner in the dead ps2's cd tray, and also adding room for many other mods, i want to also add lights through out and 2 windows.. mainly i have some questions.. i can figure out tight shit to do with and to the case, but what about processor and chips and such, i have a V2... old motha huh? well what i do hardware wise to make it better... any way to raise the RAM or anything? I want it better faster!!! It seems to lag on mine for GTA SA does it for all? would adding more cooling stop this? i want it as GOOD as it can be

i already plan on getting a 200 gig hard drive, network adaptor, modding the hell out of the controlers wireless station mem cards casing the ps2 casing and a lot more, and a mod chip, but does anyone know about hard ware mods?! im sure someone out there could make a better ps2.. something like a new motherboard or something i dont know...

I have seen plans for overclocking a PSOne... and adding more ram to the Xbox... but nothing so far on the PS2 in these areas.... Hell if you went crazy and water cooled the chips (RAM, GS, EE) I don't see why you couldn't double the clock speed... Just finding what to change......only thing I think I would worry about in an OCed Ps2 would be the chips design limit... what it could take... the safest way of OCing the system would be do it in small increments untill it started to show instability....then back off a little...

Instabilities in the EE, GS or the RAM could mean that you've met the limit of the hardware... BUT HEED THIS WARNING: Doing this could result in the death of millions (transitors that is) which , by the way, is bad...mmmkay.
