I remember reading somewhere that you would change the file name from BASLUS-20946GTA50000 to BASCES-20946GTA50000

Anyone managed to solve this yet ? Renamed the folder and file to BESLES-52541GTA50000, but still no joy. As above, just says 'corrupt save' :(

I've been looking at this (from NTSC to PAL), with no success whatsoever.
Initially I tried using nport to copy the NTSC save over, ps2 save builder to change the format of the save, ps2sidc to change the ID, ps2 save builder to convert back, and nport to copy the save back. The saves in the SA folder (3 of them) then show in the PAL version, but as 'corrupt data'.
After some playing around, I restored the original saves - but now those show up as 'corrupt data' in the NTSC version, even though they're the original unmodified saves.
Further experimenting shows that if I use nport to move the SA save to the PC, and immediately move it back without changing it, the saves then show up as corrupt.
I can copy the saves from one memory card to another without them becoming corrupt. But if I then move a single .b file from one memory card, to the PC, to the other memory card, that save then shows up as 'corrupt data' in SA. I've tried using nport, ps2client, and execftps to move the file - makes no difference.
So not only can I not convert the saves, I can't even back them up to PC without them being seen in SA as corrupt when restored!
Anyone else finding this? Or not?

I lost my NTCS version of the game and now have a PAL copy and would also like to change the format of my save. But after reading this Im not sure its possible D:!
Is there a way to change the format of the game perhaps D:?

Done it! :D
However, I had to get action replay max to do it. Using that with my usb flash drive, I copied my NTSC save off. Then I used ps2 save builder to convert the max save to an xps format save. Then, PS2sidc to change the ID of the XPS save from BASLUS-20946 to BESLES-52541, and ps2 save builder again to convert the modified xps save back to max format. Put the max save back onto my usb flash drive, copied it onto memory card one with action replay max, and it worked! :)
It's a shame nport seems to corrupt the saves though. I can't figure out a way to do it without having to use action replay max and a usb flash drive.

It has to do something with the time. When using execftps it dosen't copy the time stamp so when you write it again to mc the original time is gone, propably gta:sa looks for the time and it's wrong (execftps gives a 00:00 time) hence the corrupted save. btw i fckd my saves

Ok how about just FTPing the save off of the MC to my PC then using PS2sidc ?

You are truly correct. I tried copying my gtasa gamesaves (NTSC vers) to my labtop to clear up some room on my MC...a few weeks later I decide to play gtasa, but to my demise, I encountered the same results as you all (corrupted saves). It probably has to do w/the timestamp, because all the files are the same, before and after I copied it to my PC, and even after I went out and got an AR Max Evo ed, to copy it over back to the MC via the usb flash. (Hope that makes sense!) Anyways, long story short, I dont know if there's a way to somehow extract that timestamp, so we can just use execftps to move/edit/copy our gamesaves...I'm just happy AR Max did the trick! :)
Q to all of you: is there way to run the elf (the memory manager one) to manage our gamesaves via the usb flash drive? Just curious...thanks.
