Firmware V1.3 Released, Factory Expansion completed, more News.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
We released today V1.3 Firmware for the Infinity Modchip.
you can Download it from HERE. http://www.infinitymod.com/matrix/files/downloads/InfinityFW13.zip
New Features and additions:
- ATAD auto patch.
- HDD browser support.
- PS2 color/videomode fix.
- GameAccellerator function for PAL machines (beta).
- Selectable default boot mode.
- Default language selection for FastBoot/MC applications.
- Selectable pad detect time.
- DEV1 compatible mode for MC applications.
- Infinity options configuration screen.
Notes :
-------
- ATAD auto patch will let you use your non-Sony hard disk like an
original one
(install HDD enabled games and updated browser software).
- The new HDD browser is now supported by the Infinity (no more need to
fastboot
games with the official or non-official HDD).
Owners of USA PS2 will be able to install and use the new official HDD
Browser
coming with the HDDTools disk.
All discs will be recognized and autoboot.
- GameAccellerator (PAL60) experimental support. This forces all games to run
on NTSC with color correction applied. Games will run faster (60Hz) but
screen
could be not centered (some games support adjusting of screen position if
needed).
- You can now select a default boot mode. If no button is pressed on the
pad this
boot mode will be used.
- You can now press R1 during boot to start DEV1 mode. This will launch
applications on your memory card using the standard mc0:/BOOT/BOOT.ELF
instead of the Infinity Manager.
- A default language to use for games using FastBoot or memory card
applications
can now be selected. Previously all games default to Japanese.
- On some PS2 versions if a pad was not connected on port1 the screen
would stay
black waiting for a pad for several seconds. This waiting time can now be
configured (only useful if you usually boot your PS2 without any pad
connected).
See "V13README.TXT" file inside the V.13 zip folder for detailed
specifications.

Well i assumed it would be the D-Pad as it is the only thing that's worth to be called pad, after that we have buttons and sticks, but press pad gets me confused i tried D-Pad Up + Circle and all other combinations D-Pad Down,Left,Right,Diagonals, and even down but with no result :(

It seems they have seen their mistake and have corrected the file, but next time don't be so hasty judging people because it can be you the one to make a stupid figure of yourself.

Well if you say this to me:
Why ppl cannot even read a simple TXT file ?
it's like calling me stupid, also you commentary cleary denotes that you have not read the previous post carefully because i wasn't the only one refering the PAD + CIRCLE problem so if you have indeed read the other replies you should reached the obvious conclusion that it wans't neither a mass delusion problem nor a reading problem unless i and the other's were perhaps drunk or on drugs and even in that case it would be a hell of a coincidence we both read the exact same thing, anyway thanks for the info that helped clarifying the problem it was sad the way it was done but what mathers it's that the problem was sorted out and everyone that was having the problem can benefit from it.

Is still coming... Not sure since it just says "the new official HDD Browser coming with the HDDTools disk".
Sounds like the disc (HDDTools) coming with official Sony HDD.
Readme.txt sure is confuse.

I have the European PAL version of REZ installed on HDLoader and found that all the text appeared in Japanese. Hurrah! The new 1.3 firmware has fixed this. And there I was blaming HDLoader all along, with me trying to hex-edit the language fix into it with no avail.
Nice one Matrix Team :)

The infinity manager included in the firmware install disc is only intended to be used for the instalation of the firmware and not to be installed into the memory card as it will allays ask you to upgrade the firmware it has no other use.

To those who have Matrix Infinity installed..
Does the Matrix Infinity modchip boots up backup games all the time(100%)?
And does it freezes/hang up when playing back ups?
Thanks in advance for answering my questions.

Not at all, i have the infinity for quite some time and i never experienced a single boot failure or freezes/hangs, this was with v1.2 of the firmware with the new 1.3 version i have played a game for about 8 hours straight and no problem found also booted several games and didn't have any problem.

yes... currently the MI is shown more support and more updates to follow.
the new firmware is cool, the support for non-sony drives is a nice addon to finally come out...
the nice thing with the matrix infinity is auto-booting and full browser support. you can put in different media and it will boot it, even in the browser it displays properly.
- Official reseller: dms3, matrix infinity, duo2se, and more.

hi all just wanted to say that i can confirm that theeofficial sony hdd explorer does work with third party hard drives. i just installed the software but as a result i lost the 10 games i had backed up. "edit" i take that back after i deleted one game through hd loader the other games now load up from hd loader :edit games dont work again. going to install a new one and see what happens "edit; ok just installed new game and now the others are working again.
Where can I get the official Sony HD software - or would that be piracy?
Even when installed, is it not quicker to install hdloader in mc0:boot/boot.elf and hold down R1 after power on -
what advantage is the sony software? Does it allow to copy game saves from MemCard to HD? (this is currently possible with tools like PS2OS but quite a bit of hassle...)
Thanks

So sorry for delay, here's the reply I got from e-mail:
"The new HDD Browser is a new browser version for the PS2 that was released together with the purchase of original HDD."
Gradius
v1.3 is a great update, however tested it today and have problems on v9 and v10 pal console. I often get the browser screen with the gold disc when I try to boot a ps2dvd backup. When I select the gold icon the game starts. With the other firmwares I never got/get this. Anybody have the same problem?
I have a V10 with 1.3 rom, but load all of my games from HDD.
The option in 1.3 for PAL60 has finally allowed me to play a backup of GT4 Prologue (PAL) on my NTSC box - previously the menus etc all worked but finally clicking on the chequered flag to begin the race the screen would go black - now it works! (but its a bit quicker than it should be, and the bottom of the screen is way below the bottom of the TV...

tr1, how are you loading the games from the HDD? HD Loader via MC or CD?
I copied and renamed HDLoader.elf to mc0:BOOT/BOOT.ELF and I hold down R1 on startup and HDD Loader loads straight up (from MC) - the R1 button press thingy is new in the Matrix Infinity 1.3 ugrade.
