There are a couple of saves I would like to download from gamefaqs, but my only means of getting them on my PS2 is via execFTP, is there a utility to convert the xport to a folder that I could FTP straight to the mem card?
I've had a look around but found nothing thus far.
Cheers,
JR

just take a look at other posts rumble. theres a small program called ps2savetool that allows you to extract the XXXXXXXXXXX long filename icon.sys and the other files from an xport or pfs or w/e format BESIDES max and codebreaker. theres also a max to pfs tool so that just leaves codebreaker not compatible...hope that helps

blade, I downloaded PS2 save builder, and I can extract the individual files from saves I want, do I then just put them in a folder with the same name as the main file, then FTP it to my mem card? Should work right?

the folder you make for the saves doesnt matter. like say for example i have a ddrmax save. i extract all the saves from xport or w/e and there is one that has a VERY long filename with different letters and numbers. thats the name of the folder in your mc that your save is located. if you do a search then you should find it. if you open you will see the exact files you extracted from the xport save. just delete the ones on mc and drag and drop the new ones to that same directory. works everytime for me.

is it possible to do the opposing thing?
convert saves files taken from the MC through FTP, to a .xps file?

yes it is although id think you need to compile it on your own. im guessing an open folder then selecting all files within the save folder would work...

I just started to play around with game saves myself and I'm running into a problem with GTA Vice City saves. For some reason the 1:* 2:* etc files don't extract properly from the xport save file with PS2 save builder. Has anyone else had this problem and been able to fix it?
