New adapter, can't set up connection

I have a v7 ps2 with dms3 chip installed. I'm using the broadband connection for the network adapter into a router I have in my room. I've tried auto setting it up and manually setting up using the LAN option in the setup disk, but any way I get a -402 error PS2 disc info error has occurred after the DNAS check. What does this mean, and how can I fix it? BTW, I have setup disk v2.0.

u have to turn off your mod chip to set it up

Hm, ok setup went through fine with modchip off. Do I need to turn off the chip every time I want to play online? How about when transferring a backup to the hdd over the network?

Believe it or not you only have to turn off your mod chip when playing original online games if you play online backups that are patched it will be fine

and when sending a backup over the network this works fine aswell hope this hepls you dude! :)
