Best CD to burn on

Hi, I'm all new to this forum and I just received my Swap Magic. The problem is that when I insert the boot CD in, it goes to a menu with "Load Program" & "Language" (I think it was language)... Is this the moment when you need to use the slider to change the CD?
I did so and pressed X on my pad, and it loaded a while and gave a red screen.

Now I'm wondering that is it the CD I use? I tried with Mr. Data first. And then burned to TDK. Didn't help. I read that Verbatim is good... What have you guys tried and what CD made it work?

PS: Am I trying to make it the right way or am I doing something wrong? I don't want to waste 40e on something that doesn't even work :(

Verbatim is best quality cd-r's. Sorry i cant answer any of your other questions.

Verbatim Data life plus is the shizit with ps2 :)

I'm having the same problem. Here are a few questions I have for you.

What PS2 version do you have?
What version of SM CD do you have?
What does it say on the upper right corner of your TV when you load SM CD?
Did you solve the problem by switcing CD Brand?
