Yep title says it all. I got a cheap laser pointer, the type you can get for cheap on ebay with a yellow box. It runs on batteries, but i got the idea of powering it off the lightgun that i have. The problem is that when i took apart the laser pointer, i couldnt find both poles (positive and negative) where the batteries plug in, and on top of that it would not work directly from ps2 or with batteries either. I used a 4.7v source from the gun and the laser pointer should normally use 4.5v. Did i fry the laser diode by giving it too many milliamps or something? Any tips at all?

BTW the lightgun is called the Gunman

You can get a lightgun with a red dot for about $30 at the-console.corner

isnt that bad for your TV and also dangerouse for your eyes because the TV surface is reflective?

it shouldnt really affect your TV, and as for eyes, its bad directly or through a mirror, but reflected from glass it shouldnt do any damage (otherwise laser pointers would be illegal to sell)

i think they usually use the metal housing of the laser pointer to connect the negative side...kinda like a flashlight.... hope it helps
