Hi, I have some question about booting PS1 games. I got a Game Breaker Pro, but it has problems to recognize the disc when booting... like 90% of the times it says there was an error while reading the disc. (tried to wash it many ways.. also with a machine at a video club.. but didn't change anything)

So, I got annoyed of always trying 50 times to play a ps1 game, and tried with my Gameshark (version 5 I think) for PS1... if I swap fast enough (I have a flip top cover) the gameshark will boot the backup game.

Another solution I got is : inserting a normal ps1 disc, when I see the disc icon in the navigator, I swap the PS1 disc with the Game Breaker Pro disc as fast as I can then boot. It will take some time before the Playstation logo appear, but it does work.

After saying all this, my question is : Does the TOC thing matter with PS1 games? OR.. does the gameshark (for PS1) as a high enough toc?

(btw, how can I know the TOC of a disc? :confused:

(I'm using a PS2 for those who didn't understood.. cuz I think it isn't written anywhere)

Toc IS JUST the size of the game...just pop it in your PC and check out the size of the disk....that's all...I use the 2nd disk that comes with ActionReplay2 and it's been working great for me....

Are you sure? Cuz it say the gameshark v5 disc for ps1 is only about 15mb or less o.o;
and ps1 games seemed to work fine with it

Here can I instead swap it for a backup, will that work?

I'm not sure if it will... because I THINK it still scan the disc when you start it... I'll have to try but my cousin is currently playing DDR so I'll have to wait before trying

EDIT : Nope, it doesn't work, after I swap directly with the backup disc, It shows a black screen, after some time it takes me back to the navigator screen of the normal ps2 bios, and it says there's style a PlayStation CD inserted. If I try pressing X again to boot it, it will do exactly the same thing.

For the thing about the Gameshark V5 (for PS1) being only about 15mb and woking fine for booting backup games, anyone can help me?

I usually use Gameshark Lite (160 MB) when booting backups (avg 427 MB) without any promblems.

Strange... but anyway, it won't boot any backups of ps2 when the TOC is too big, but everything seems ok if it's not over 650mb...
