Troubles getting online

i just got my killzone beta and i hooked my ps2 up to the internet like i always do but now it just time's out and doesnt connect. i tried using a new ethernet cable but that didnt help any. does anyone know why all of a sudden my ps2 wont establish a connection??

Check your network adapter is connected.

the network adapter is connected and the ps2 recognises it when i registered the data for my memory card. it just doesnt connect online

Are you able to ping your ps2 on the network?

i guess...i dont know ive never done that, how would i ping it?

Well, what operating system are you using on your pc? Is it networked with the PS2?

How is your PS2 hooked up to the internet? ex: Is it plugged directly into your PC then your PC is hooked up to the internet? ex: Are you using dial up? ex: Are you using a hub or router and plugging your PS2 in that way?

oh ok, i just installed windows XP and what ive always done was just plug the ether net wire straight into my modem, i have cable internet.

its online only, i finally got it working. all i had to do was unplug my modem and plug it back in and it worked fine...gezzz i learned from this one. the beta is pretty fun to

is there a place where u can see what games are available for beta testing? i signed on with playstation.com for FF11 back like last year, i never signed for killzone but they contacted me about it. so is it just random when they choose you to beta games or is there a place you can go to test whatever games you'd like?
