I'm new here and I'm thinking of getting Swap Magic. I was wondering if there's any known issues with ot or what? How does the Slide Card work with it? Would I be better off getting a no solder mod chip and the swap disk or is the Swap Magic/Slide Card deal worth it? And if anyone can give me a place to buy it for cheap I'd appreicate it. Thank you.
seriously...If you're considering a 'no solder' chip+SM or a SM+ slideCard, I recommend you get the fliptop....These three works the same way, tricking the ps2 to think you haven't open the ps2 dvd tray....IF you don't want to get a modchip, then you'd rather choose a fliptop because they are easier to work with.....the problem with Swapmagic is that the newer ps2..like v9/10...they have a hard time reading the CD version of swapMagic....

to use the fliptop you void your warranty, if you are going to void your warranty might as well get something actually installed...
if you don't want to void your warranty try a slidecard tool.
we have the SWAPMAGIC 3.2 set with dual dvd case and slidecard tool at $18.50

if the point is the warranty, slide card + SM solve the problem, but there are games restrictions ,applications use limitations, no DVD9 support and etc and etc... that's sux! There is nothing better than a smooth modchip.

Well, for $20 I think it's worth it. I just want to be able to play games on a buddies ps2 until I can get up some money to get my own. Once I got some cash I'll get a modchip.
And thanks, I'll look into the fliptop thing.

Yeah dude. I believe the swap magic disks + the flip top is the best thing to do, unless you feel good about your soldering. The only bad thing about it is that you have to swap anytime you wanna play and it won't just boot backups on the fly.
