I'm currently using a PS2 v7. Well, I burned a copy of Splinter CEll:PT. However, the copy can't work with CDLoader. I heard from a website that you need DVDLoader for this game to work. Anyone know where I can get this so called DVDLoader?

burn this image file to DVD-R, start it from SM DVD, it'll load up showing a yellow "disc", hit "X" just one time, "disc" turns purple, and says "use cogswap", do so with your game and hit "X" again ...bootie.

I burned this w/ dvddecryptor and it doesn't require the dvdloader. I saw on the swapmagic fix site that it did, but it plays without it. The same goes for Onimusha3.

Yeah, but is your ps2 a V7/8? SCPH-3900x? Those (and all subsequent models, since) have Sony's new, upgraded "software security", and won't let anything backed up boot of GS2, no matter what.... musta took some R&D, and a lot of money, but that, they have, at Sony.

AHH, but you've still used the CDLOADER, and again, that is exactly what the CDloader software was written for, that and swap magic's tendancy to b/s over memory conflicts, but mostly, the v7 bios that's limited in what you can boot, and allows some new games (well, any actually, but only some games do) to sortware command a rescan of the extra sector codes, rsod when you press start, and such. Onimusha Blade Warriors does that, it won't play on the modded version 7, but it works from the swap magic on a v5.

Can you use cdloader to play DVD-r backups. Or do you need cog like usual?

you need dvdloader to play dvd-r back ups, and cdloader to play cd-r backups.

no, the things a double swapper i'm pretty sure, like cogswaploader is, ejecting in any original toc works, the idea being that gs2 was a cd only, and they made double swapping as hard as they could, version by version ( read my guide to that process, by version), so a cd-r with that prog to ease the double swap of dvd-r's was better, we remastered those to "dvd loaders" to be just the opposite, for 50k's that until after a year of fiddling out sm cd v3.2, just for those, nothing would direct swap boot any cd-r on them, only the dvd one worked so a dvd sm to dvd-r double swapper to org cd to cd-r double swap, or an "exploit" of the same program/trip would boot any cd-r's on them at all... those owners loved us for doing that, most of whom with cd writers only wanting to make their own anything. but some games and some consoles including that program somehow is the only way, so they presist with the dvd remastered swap trip helpers, I prefer the cogswaploader by "Hermes" of PS2 Reality, in Spain. GS2 was such a bitch that using codes on dvd-r was'nt worth it until I remastered THAT on dvd-r then it was a breeze, 1, 2, 3.
