You gotta be a bit creative. If you want to paint it a different color, you can paint the whole thing, and get a sharpie marker (they work great) and go over it in any color (not just brack, they have silver, anythign you want, gooood for detail). If you want to keep it unpainted, the standard way is tape (traditionally masking tape, hence the masking). You can try to be creative too. Like Hotglue could work, some other glues may work (not to strong!), all you need is something to cover is niceley and very tightly.

Not a bad idea, I never thought of that. :chinscrat

hey guys... I have some permanent marker on my ps2 logo on the top case :( You have any tricks to remove that? I know it's probably a lost cause.. but maybe, just maybe someone has a little trick to remove that!

Spciymeatballs covered it all pretty much
Also another option that you can do is goto a store and get a stencil and then repaint it in or you can get some funny letters to stick on the top and glue them there
I do admit I am waiting to see the first "PS2" written in plastic nursery school letters they have lots of other kinds of flat and 3d letters too

you can also buy masking latex from art shops, you just paint it on and let it dry, then when you've painted the lid you just peel it off.

Ya know I bought some of that and I didnt have a brush and whimped out trying that. (thought I couldnt get it to make a precise line around the edges but I guess I could try to tape the edges off before I applied it :chinscrat )
I think I might give it shot again one of these days

for the ps2 logo on top I just used some scotch tape that I cut with an X-acto very precise.. very clean you just have to be careful when approaching the end of the line of scotch... you need to pull it backward if you know what I mean.. to avoid removing the paint at the same time.. very nice job !!!
I should really get to my cousin's house and get my dad's cam... :chinscrat
