Greetings and Salutations to everyone who has recently found their way here, either out of curiosity or forced exile. ;)

I don't expect it, but I hope some of you folks recall me from the time and efforts I put in over at 0wnz before I was unceremoniously given the boot about six months ago. I'm also known for having a wacky and sometimes "biting" sense of humor, but anyway, the janitor has asked me to say a few words, so here goes...


The underlying philosophy of this place is based on an open and uncensored exchange of information, ideas, and opinions. Unlike other forums on the net, we strive to be impartial and beholding to no one, i.e. we are not associated with our own commercial website, we do not have a hidden agenda in marketing our own goods, we don't make you wade through scads of kick-back banners, we attempt to review samples sent to us in a timely and straight-forward fashion by known professionals, and you can basically speak freely (within the realm of common sense and common courtesy) without fear of repercussions. In short, we're rather unique...

In the few short months since we've opened the doors, we feel we've been able to adhere to this philosophy fairly well. In doing so, we slowly found this place attracting some of the more established and reliable names in "the scene", not to mention folks just like yourself. So, whether you're a recent newcomer or have been a mainstay in another venue, don't worry. We're all equals here and the post counter is off so that the playing field remains level (which is the way it should be.) Your character is far more important than your (post count) reputation...

ps2newz and it's forums exist for you - the membership at large. It's not here to feed our egos or fill our wallets, but rather to quench a person's thirst for knowledge on a variety of subjects. So, if you can take a moment every now and then to assist a fellow member where you can, then feel free to jump in and do so, as no one person knows everything and we all stand to benefit. We also made sure we have a great SQL keyword Search function to help you quickly locate any particular past or present topic or item of interest without having post and then wait for an answer. There's a lot of "buried treasure" here, so consider the Search button your personal shovel.

Finally, every now and then we all get dragged into situations not of our own making. Such is life and so it has been as of late, with rumors of a "war" existing between here and other places. Yeah, we're human and we get pissed off and vent at times, just like you, but overall, the folks who work hard behind the scenes here believe you're intelligent people who are more than capable of forming your own opinions and drawing your own conclusions. Loyalty, capitulation, and subservience are not prerequisites for your continued participation and membership here. Got a problem with something here? Feel fee to air it in a reasonable and mature fashion as we're not perfect, but we won't attempt to sweep it under the rug.

It's a truism that what goes around, comes around over the course of time.

LOL We never had a "competition" at Ownz, nec, but I do recall a few emails to someone at that time, tactfully trying to explain the difference between asking decent questions and posting informative responses as opposed to slapping up any old reply in youthful over-zealousness with an eye on one's post count as opposed to being truly helpful... ;)

In short? Sent a private email to Z about him outting people's IP addresses in public. He replied I should mind my own business. I in turn replied that if he couldn't handle a little commentary and criticism I couldn't wait for the self-proclaimed Billy Gates II to graduate, get married, and have in-laws. Mere minutes later, my 500+ posts and I were history and Z made up one of his typical self-serving bullshit stories to placate the masses. His loss, not mine...

Afterwards, I received an invite from xiaNaix and Guichi to come help revamp xiaNaix's old place and I've been here ever since.
So tell me, do you like what we've done with the carpeting...? :D

I just thought it was weird how everybody seemed to be "defecting" from ownz to newz but after reading a few posts I seem to understand why. Interesting. Oh Balto, I remember Z's explination on banning you, he said that you simpily e-mailed him telling him to ban you. I always wondered what reason you had for doing that:confused: guess now I know the real story. Glad to see you're still in da scene. Heheh well I dunno how I came over this palce. I was on the net one night and signed up at the board on the old site before it got shut down. Anyhows I wasnt sent a activation link thus forgot about it. Then I got an email saying about the new website so I visited and re-signed and it werked. Then I found out about ownz, saw what it was like and when charlie was banned I was outta there :D :P

Did you guys know that Necrolop has been temporarily banned from PS2ownz (before he got the permanent boot) before for bad conduct? I have ZERO against ol' Necro but jeeze, the guy just can't keep his mouth shut. I don't exactly know what got him banned but Z probably had a good reason... Can't we all just get along?

Z trys to make people believe that he has "good reasons" for banning us, but the truth is anyone who contridicted him, even slightly got the BOOT, ask many ppl on this forum! infact i will start a thread called "who got banned fro ownz" there will probly be like 100 replies! he went crazy towards the end :lol: :crazy: :crazy: :crazy: :confused:

Didn't Purple Penguin stand up for Necro and didn't get the boot? Hell, I've even stood up to Z before when he banned S.T.A.R.S. but I didn't get booted. Maybe if you guys, um, showed a little class and typed with some decency when you were arguing you wouldn't of been banned. Then again, I know some of you had the intention of getting banned in the first place. I'm not flaming anybody here, just trying to figure out what the hell drove everybody to do this.

Very interesting... Thanks for clearing that up for me Guichi. While I haven't heard Z say that himself (Only being in the scene to make $$$) I have nothing wrong with a little entrepreneurship on his part. He essentially started the whole scene himself didn't he? I don't know. I like both forums (ownz and newz) so I think I will still continue to post both here and there. I honestly don't think he's out to screw anybody $$$ wise but what you said about ownz's retailers not getting their refunds is a startiling revelation. I wonder what Z has to say about this himself...

XiaNaixs old page also had most of the news first including the first announcement of the neo mods and the origa brothers personally announcing the origa chip on his forums.

First of all, I look at noone as God except for God Himself. Second, the reason for my recent inquiries was for nothing more than a little insight on what the hell happened between ownz and newz. I got the jist of what happened at ownz when the shit was hitting the fans, so to speak. I honestly don't know who to trust as I've always felt welcome at ownz. This place is pretty cool too... I will ponder this some more after I play a little more Shinobi.
