I just received my flip-top + swap magic discs (dvd 2 & cd 3.2) and my hd loader cd. Haven't had any problems until last night. I tried to make a copy of Tomb Raider (DVD) using Nero 6. I used the same settings to burn the game as I used with my working 007 EON and Syphon Filter backups. I also used the same media, Memorex DVD+R. I boot SM3 DVD, Insert backup, press X, I get a blue border but the game will not load. It hangs at the insert disc screen with a blue border. Im confused. The origianl does play and ive also got it running on the hdd. What gives! Im outta disc now, but Ill reburn later tonight. PS2 V7.

Don't waste more disks. Tomb Raider has a heavy copy protection and booting will fail without a decent modchip.

O.K. Thanks.
So I've probably got a good burn. No need in throwing away a good DVD.

WRONG, it's not about copy protection at all, with "tomb raider" and swap magic, lemme give you the facts: not all games, including TR, boot from the sm dvd, it's not a copy protection issue, at all, rather, it's a ps2 memory adress conflict. obviously, sm runs from memory, the disc is stopped, therefore it occupies a small portion of the ps2's memory to stay running. well, certain games coincidentally require that same adress portion of the ps2's memory, to run also, so if sm is running already, you get a black screen, over a memory adress conflict. use one of my "Cogswaploader" masters, either the dvd-r, which runs from sm dvd (faster, less swapping) directly, or the cd version from the sm cd, which will reqire you to eject that, and insert the dvd sm normally, to get the yellow dvd toc, but either will boot you tomb raider.
