All right, PS2 case modding forums, been waiting for this for a while. I case modded my PS2 about a year ago, just haven't ever gotten a chance to take pictures, or any place to show it.

For my PS2, I did a red/black color scheme, used some quality Dupli-Color Red Auto paint, lot of thin layers, then a bunch of clear coates to prevent scratching. Clear coates work well since its been about a year with minimal, near zero scratches and chips. But I try to take of my PS2 too ::wink::.

I also added a DVD window. This was actually the first thing I did, because the day I got my dremel, I really wanted to dremel something and my PS2 was there. I cut right out the big "PS2" logo, leaving the "Playstation 2" nice and complete. Used a cross over the DVD to allow the disc to still spin. I used Hot Glue, its perfectly flush with the PS2 top. later i might plan to put soem red or black tape bordering the DVD window so you can't see the hot glue at all.

I just got my camera so I took a few pics. As you can see its a bit dusty, the DVD tray is still real dusty, but I think it looks ok in the pics. Flash in camera brings out some flaws I never noticed, the pics don't quite do justice to reality.

Just have to say, I am not close to done. I would have added a bunch of Blue LEDs I bought lining the window but I need a new Iron tip. Just liek my Xbox, I'll never be done PS2 case modding, I get new Ideas every day. Love some feedback/suggestions. Thanks.

Tell me if they are too big, I already resized em to 35% but they are still kinda big:

thats a really good paint job. I have defiantly seen some botched jobs in my day, but this is quite good. It looks like it was bought like that (minus the hot glue).

Thanks for all the feedback. I think I'll leave the DVD bezel black because then enough stuff is black so it can be considered a two tone paint job (even though its really a lazy one). Thats why I first painted the memory cards slots red, but then repainted them black later on.

Anybody have any other cool suggestions?

What I have planned is blue LEDs in the window and in that little black part in the middle of the DVD window, in the center of the CDs spinning, I'm going to put a little picture of the "PS2" log like it used to be with red as the background.

Paint job looks great its very clean not spotty at all!
Only suggestion I would make is that you can remove the Sony emblem with a small pocket knife and use a glue gun to put it back when you are done painting

An EL light strip in the expansion bay might look sporty also

The "SONY" Logo pops off easily, should take it off while painting it so it remains silver. The PSX logo also comes off of the drive cover to make painting easier. And even the USB blue cover is removable. You could paint the top of the dvd drive black so itl give it a better look and cover the rough edges caused by your dremil tool. What Id really like to see is someone paint the controller ports. Great work, keep it up.
