I've not been able to get my adapter to connect online (been trying since last December). I have a cable connection. I've tried Midnight Club 2 (failed to connect to gamespy server), Twisted Metal Black Online and ATV2 (the only non DNA$ online games I have).
I've set my adapter up in all manner of ways: wireless bridge (dlink 900ap+), directly to router (dlink 614+ with gaming mode enabled) and directly to the modem (Best Data CMX300). I've tried setting the adapter up with the setup CD (door knob version) and game utilities. I did call sony and they are sending me the newer setup CD with the network tools. I've tried automatic settings and manual settings (IP addresses inside AND outside the DHCP range of my router), different DNS servers (including the F root server, my router and DNS servers given automatically by my ISP). Netmask set the same as all my PCs. I've set DMZ in my router and forwarded ports. I exchanged my network adapter and the new one didn't work either. I think I've tried just about everything.
Now for the weird part. I can run pukklink on my PS2 and inlink on my PC and I can transfer files back and forth between PS2 and PC (even wirelessly with the PS2 hooked to the wireless bridge). So I know that the network adapter and the wireless bridge are working. Just for the helluvit (thinking that it wouldn't matter) I booted a backup of Fight Night and selected online play and I got the DNAS 402 error. After that I was really confused (I can connect to DNAS servers but not game servers?)
Anyone have any ideas what I can do to play online? I am only asking in case I have missed something obvious but I think I've tried everything. I setup my home LAN myself with 3 wireless PCs and one hard wired. I am not a noob when it comes to networking but I am completely stumped. This has really made me feel inefective and stupid but I am pretty sure that I have done everything correctly Thanks for any suggestions you can offer.
