At this stage some people advertised for installing hdloader in Sydney's tradingpost claiming hdloader is 100% legal software. Hope $ony does not read the paper.

i woul like to know why hd loader is illegal? (acording to what i had read in some foruns its bcoz it aparently use a few sony libraries).
And about HD advance? is i illegal? and swap magic? is it also legal?

the reason hdloader is illegal is probably because you can copy games that you DONT own from your friends and then play them w/o needing any type of confirmation that you DO indeed have the original game. hdadvance would be illegal too BUT there is no point in going after them since it is basically the same thing as hdloader. the S isnt going after hdloader alone but the whole idea of games on hdd so if they win hdadvance will have to be shut down too. kill 2 birds with 1 stone idea. the reason swap magic is legal is law states you can make ONE legal backup copy of a game you own.

Yes but what about ONE legal backup copy to an HDD? Everything can be stretched and interpreted different ways.

I think HDLoader shut down bc he/they did not have enough money to get a good enough lawyer to put against Sony.

Why buy when you canrent the etir rental library and rip it within a few months with gamepass?

i dnt understand 1 thing, chips/swap magic you can also play iligal copys, so the point of that it makes piracy much more convinient is crap/false/nule.
acording to that point of ideas toolls like cloneCd, AnyDVD, Alchool 120% would be also ilegal, that is what i call the potato logic.

so to make this program legal.... why dont they "claim" that they made made it avalible to the public to save just to games to play faster.... like adding a simple original game disc check so this way it can just be seen as a way to cut down load time so this way the original is needed to play each game (with a secret patch hacked released to make bypass disc seek)...another words...do it the legal way so it can remain avalible to the public....they can fight it and probably win...

SO this means you support the dms team... Seems kinda shady to me. I think that what dms is doing is very illegal and should be frownd upon by the intire scene, i also think that what you are suggesting EspI69 is also illegal SO :nana:

well if they make a patch to correct hdloader and make it ask for a real game disc that ur playing off the HD, they they could probably win the case and keep theprogram running..... but then thats where we come into play and get rid of the disc seek... it makes sence and would be another battle won againt sony... they are trying to take eveythitgn away from us..... i dont mean do this to make money becuase it HDL should have just been a homebrew app for FREE! but this would make it so sony cant get on our case and try and sue eveyone lol

Until Sony is capable of making a symbiosis of PS2[or 3] and DVP-CX models(CD/DVD jukeboxes) they can just keep quiet.
