I want to know, I have read that you can not boot backup games with a V.7 PS2, with a no-soldering modchip and with the Swap Magic DVD. I have tried to boot the game with my GS on my V.7, but it does not boot up. I try it on my V.4 PS2 and the games work just fine. I want to use AR or GS codes with my games. Is there anyway that I can play with AR or GS codes with my PS2, or even a code breaker would be fine? I just want to use those codes. Do you think the new AR Evo will work?? Please help.

Thanks. :scream:

Hey,

if it's GS2 version 2 then you can boot CD/DVD backups. I've tried that with my v5 no-solder chip b4. And you CAN use codes while booting. Though I'm not sure what you mean by games work on your v4 and not v7....

Version seven have some kind of double cd crap. I dont know alot about it, but I know it stops you from play'n back-ups. I think the only way is if you have a chip installed.

SWAP MAGIC boots em up on all consoles, but versions 7 and up recognize that gs2 program, and automaticly re-check the extra sector code regardless of weather or not the tray was opened prior, and rsod copies every time, from gs2, but the sm discs will do it, although they revised the cd version to 3.2, before they got it working on versions 9 and 10, the dvd version remains unchanged, and works on any console, even my version 0 (Jap build sm, of course)

AR Evo works to boot CD-Rs straight. It can boot DVDs with the knife trick. Version 8 here. Dunno about 7.

I sat down and wrote this some time ago, and have'nt updated it lately, but I did manage to find it for you, I got sick of answering questions about the damn gs2 swapping theory, long ago, read this THEN ask any questions you maight have, if any..I think I laid it all out pretty well, here.
