View Full Version : MXL-2 using Hdloader......how????

Hi,

I have a mxl-2 modchip fitted to my pal ps2, works perfectly. I have recently added a harddrive to it. No problems there, formatted it also with no problems.

When i come to load up the Cracked hdloader via cdr and then choose install every backup(dvdr) i put in it tells me its not a ps2 disc. It works fine with originals everytime...

Out of approx 30 attemps trying to load backups onto my harddrive i have managed it once. The thing is i can't remember how i did it. It was something to do with the eject button, not sure tho....

can anyone help me before i throw the p2 threw the window....

eject once the once the logo pops up then take out the disc

hi m8,

do you mean when the HDloader free screen comes on, i then press eject and replace it with a dvdr and close the tray and then select install??

is that right m8

Tried as mentioned above (when the HDloader free screen comes on press eject and replace it with a burned disc and close the tray and then select install). It works on originals and cdr but unfortuanley not on dvdr..on dvdr it still says no valid PS2 DVD :/

i guess i know now why it wont work with the MXL-2. its because the chip powers down after boot..then when in HDD Loader it is disabled and therefor cant load burned dvdr. i guess there no way to make the MXL-2 staying active or? sad fuck :/

yes it does work, i just can't remember the configuration and the amount of times i pressed the eject button... I know it was more that twice though.

I was hoping someone else had done it and remembered:(

FINALLY I GOT IT!!!! JIHAAA! (to copy over DVDR content with HDD Loader an Matrix-MXL-2)

Thats how it work for me: Take the 600 kb version. Start the PS2 normally just as you would do with dvdr. When the first splash screen (says HDD Loader) comes up open the drive via eject and replace HDD Loader CD with your DVDR. Then press reset for about half a second (with drive still open!!) and then close the drive by pressing Eject again.
Now select install and it works! At least for me hehe...
