I have an image of BBNav .30 and I have burnt 5 discs and can't seem to get it to work. I have been using alcohol 120 and there are different options to burn with. Anyone here know how to, and willing to give up the info?
Thanks,
Mike

Well.....if memory serves me correctly, you have to patch the image to get it to load right. Couldn't find the right link anymore.....you'll have to search for how to patch the image.
how can't u get them to work?

i've burned it in TAO mode, DOA/SAO, and RAW/SAO and each time I get the lazer to read the disc and it just puts me to the browser. If I pick the disc again...it reads it then kicks me back to the browser again.

I also have the utility disc, but it doesn't work with a 3rd party hdd!! Unless you have a DMS mod!

PSBBN is much better if you can get full functionality out of it. Unfortunately, unless you are using a Japanese PS2, most of the functionality is gone when running the program. Patching it to run on a foreign PS2 eliminates the sound and most of the features besides storing saves from a Memory Card to the HDD, which HDD Utility Disc does just as well for much less disk space.

theres nothing wrong with ur burning method. bb navi has some serious region checks when u boot ur ps2.
first u need to region patch the img. then u need to atad patch it, unless ur using dms3 like i am.
oh and listen to bungie, theres no point in having bbnavi, theres no sound and it lags under linux emu. i just stick with the nice lil' hdd util.

I'll just change my chip from MagicV to DMS3 V2. That'll solve the problem.

I have a japanese PS2, and I am intereseted in using the network adaptor and HDD with it. Now I have seen pictures of the BBN and the language I saw was japanese.
Now, on to my question is the HDD Utility Disc the same as the BBN? Also will I need to patch it (HDD Utility Disc) to get it to work on my PS2??
thanks

Completely different program. PSBBN is what REPLACED HDD Utility Disc in Japan. The only language it will display is in Japanese, because SCEJ hasn't released any other language settings for it, although there is a Display Language option in one of the menus for the eventuality of them ever releasing one, or the program being released in a region that would need multiple languages.
If you have a Japanese PS2, just import the disc. It costs 500 yen in Japan, and nippon-export.com supposedly gives the best price for obtaining it in the US outside of an online auction.

Thanks for your reply, it was very helpful.
Another question, since i cannot read kanji, what benefits woulf I get by using this program. I ask since, where I live I can only get the NA and disk for an US PS2.
I could try the link you gave me, but that would be a hassle and since I am not really sure of what will I get with the PSBBN. Hence the question.
Thank you again for your help

The guide in my signature is a guide/manual for the program for someone that can't understand much Japanese, or possibly none at all. Since it covers the features of the software, it should let you see what the benefits are. Of course, you need a Japanese PS2 to be able to use it, and most games with HDD support are in Japanese with very little English being used, if at all.
I haven't covered areas of the software that take you online and change often, since there's a lot of text there that is beyond my level, and there's no way I could match the update schedule for that amount of information even if I could read it. The online subsections of the Game Channel are left to you to explore and figure out because of that.

Here's main benefit of ps2bbn fo rJap ps2.
WIth this, yo ucan d/l games form the game channel onto your official HD and rn them fromthere. most notably one appears to be a psONE game! It would be interesting to extract this game and figure out how to place other psone games in this wrapper.
