On http://www.hdloader.com it used to say that hdloader supported 40GB to 120GB drives. Now it says that it supports 40GB and larger!
Also on http://ps2drives.x-pec.com/ they have added a 300GB drive that works. :)

But the HDLOADER FAQ says:
What are the maximum and minimum hard disk drive sizes supported by HDLoader?
The maximum hard disk drive size supported by HDLoader is 120gb, and the minimum size is 40gb. If you use a HDD with a capacity larger than 120GB (ie: 160GB, 200GB) then only the first 137GB will be useable.

You would think that you would have to partision the harddrive if it is over 137gb.

i have a 160 gb maxtor hd 8mb buffer
hdloader reads 137 gb (or 127?, i don't remember)
however, i think it is the max that ps2 can read
maybe the 300 gb hd is useful only for 137 gb.

137GB is the maximum the PS2 will read. It's a system limitation.

I use a 6.8 so yeah, you can go pretty low.

The disk has to support DMA, you can go as low as possible , but the disk has to support DMA.

I agree Cain... As of now Im runnin a 250Gig Maxtor drive.. But I have also tested a Segate 4Gig (only 2Gig was aloud) and worked great..
Didnt know that there was a drive out there that didnt support DMA!.. Huh?..
