Ok.. well.. I know.. I'm very new here.. and i think this site is great.. so please don't let anyone take this the wrong way.. cause this is a general statement about ALL online forums.. this isn't directed at anyone in particular, here or on any other board.. it's just something i've been thinking about.

After reading about all the stuff that's been going on between here and ps2ownz.. i got to thinking about the power heirachy of these kinda sites... and how it all just leads to the one person. The Owner. The owner can't be ousted, can remove/add/ban whatever whover. So.. in the 'real world' wouldn't the owner be somewhat akin to a dictator? Dictator doesn't necissarily mean they're bad.. dictators generally believe that they are doing what's best for their people, and sometimes what's best isn't right... but they believe it is.
So... maybe onlie forums need about of a 'revoulution'... a way to maybe introduce democracy into the boards. Because at the moment, they're not very democratic at all. But in the end, it is 'the Owners' time and money on the line here.. so he has every right.. but it's just a thought. :) :)

There is a point to what you say about owners being akin to dictators. Some dictators may start out as being good or at least think they are, but most definitely become enveloped in their own greed and later act out for their own self interests. There's a saying, POWER CORRUPTS AND ABSOLUTE POWER CORRUPTS ABSOLUTELY. The funny thing about dictators and revolutions is that the people themselves decide when a dictator is "bad" or "good" for them. If a dictator is giving the people what they want, then they will pull for that dictator whether they are in the right or wrong, good or bad. However, the interesting thing about dictators is this: THERE IS ALWAYS SOME OTHER MORE POWERFUL DICTATOR WATCHING OVER THE SMALLER. The more "attention" these minor despots get, the worse it will be when the MORE POWERFUL DICTATORS/Microsoft/Sony come 'a knockin'.

AT LEAST THAT'S MY OPINION...BUT I COULD BE WRONG.;)

So to form some kind of revolution, two things would have to happen.

People are alerted to a different source to get what they want..and more of it.

or

Many people of a single source alert the more powerful dictator to the lower dictator.

But Democracy can never be in full effect when it comes down to a person having power over the account. The only thing we can hope for is a truly 'good' dictator.

Theres no such thing as a good dictator.

I don't believe that to be true....if you're a person with a good and morally right heart with a nice sense of right and wrong, I don't think the power could corrupt you. People like that are very rare, though, and don't get their possitions of power for being my definition of "good."
