Gamebase is currently having hosting problems. Until these problems are resolved, you can obtain PGEN from the following URL:

Yoda: I probably wont be carrying on with PGEN in the future.
BigGanja: Suppose I should break the news to you before you get your hopes up - Saturn emulation on the PS2 is NOT possible.
If you are interesting in programming, check out the following websites:

How come mate? This emu is awesome! This has got to be THE best MD/Genesis Emu on any console! Did you get grief and nagging about it or summit?

I got a lot of grief and nagging about it. Dont forget that it also got leaked, and certain ppl made it their goal to spread the leaked release around. This doesnt do much for my motivation. However, this alone is not why I dont intend to continue working on PGEN.
The main reasons why I probably wont be continuing PGEN are as follows:
1) IMHO, PGEN is already in a very complete state. Its got all the features that were originally intended for it, and runs at a decent speed. The only main improvement that I can see would be a speedup, which would be more work than its worth.
2) I now have other more interesting projects to work on, and this doesnt leave much time for PGEN.

PGEN is a great genesis emulator sjeep. Are you planing on making any more emulators or programs for the PS2?

Probably not, at last not in the near future.
Check out my posts on the PGEN forums (http://www.gamebase.ca/forums/index.php?board=4) for more info on this.

Yeah PGEN is Awesome !!!!!! i dont have many roms that actually work but even still mate i am very impressed.
Also i know that the saturn is a lot more techinical than most other systems(PS,N64 and others that are older than the saturn)
Especially due to the fact that it runs multiple tasks at once, but SURELY, i mean how were saturn games made ??? they must have been on a computer right so there must be a decent way to emulate them on a PC (even if its just sprite display Without Poligons, they can be worked on at a later date)
SJEEP :: Have you tried Guri Guri? I am gonna try it later,do you know is it any good? do you think is it possible to port that to PS2 or do you think this whole idea is Stupid ?
Sorry for so many questions but if anyone knows any answers i would love to hear them
Because wasn't ur PGEN based on a PC Genesis Emu(DGEN)
Also I think you could be right in saying it is NOT possible(in current state)BUT WOULDN'T it be possible to partition the HDD(when it comes out) into sectors of say 40 megs a piece and emulate the processors individualy just an idea !!??
The HDD for PS2 has got to come out Bcoz of the competiton M$ so we cant outline ideas like this yet until its released
Anyways sorry for the long Post but if anyone has any ideas as to this or can shed light into my way of thinking and why it would/wouldn't work i would really like to know? but i think for now i will check out them dev sites M8 CHEERS and maybe work on a basic homebrew game.

Even IF I could use the PS2 HDD to make use of virtual memory (which would require drivers for the hdd to be written - very time consuming and difficult task), the PS2 still is NOT fast enough to emulate the saturn at a speed anywhere near playable.
To get a decent idea of which emulators will run on the PS2, test them out on a 300mhz PC. Allough this isnt very accurate at all, its the best way to get an idea of what will run ok and what will not.
Btw - PGEN is actually based on the genesis emulator "Generator". The line rendering code in PGEN is based on code from DGEN though.
Anyway, hope this clears things up for you.

Thanx alot sjeep I didn't know PGen was based from Generator(with line coding from DGEN)which may i add is very cool if the game runs with quite a few frame skips change the rendering and it runs AS GOOD as a MegaDrive if you ask me,
I am gonna test some of the more complex MD games to see if they are just as good with the difference between line and Cell generation this EMU is soooo COOL mate
Maybe your right about this whole Saturn thing It would be a nice project but i think i will put it aside(for now) and see what happens when the HDD IS actually out there(and i have one) before i get delving into the whole thing of virtual Processors in partitions on a drive.
But i do think there is a lack of GOOD beat em ups for the PS2 (i play SF2champion on PGen all the time) that is why i wanted to port a saturn emu mostly not for 3d games as such but the quality of the beat em ups IS ARCADE PERFECT on the saturn
Anyways i will shut up for now and play REAL SFZERO3 on my REAL saturn which proudly sits next to my PS2, I just wanted to SHOW and PROVE if you like about the saturn
TOO many ppl think the saturn is crap but i know as a hardcore beat em up fan that Zero 3 + x-men vs sf, even the KOF games PS1 conversions are just watered down and no where near as playable as the saturn Ports
BTW: Do you think it is possible to port any type of Neo-Geo to the PS2 even if i just started with the Neo-Geo Pocket(i can't see why not myself coz theres a DC NGPocket emulator) out there
ANYWAY Regards my friend SJEEP and i am sorry that others can't enjoy the greatness of the Saturn but my advice is if you are a SF fan and havn't got a saturn, but come across any of games GRAB them and get a saturn BELEIVE ME, theu shouldn't cost that much nowadays!!!!!!!
PEACE OUT and keep the PS2 STRONG

Its nice to hear that you are enjoying PGEN so much :)
Anyways, I think it would be possible to emulate NeoGeo games on the PS2 at a decent speed, but not without a lot of optimisation and trickery.
Oh yes, I'll have a look into this Saturn stuff. I've never actually played a Saturn - but after what you've said I must see how good the games are for myself!

They are awesome Mate
Streetfighter Zero3: is THE BEST VERSION BAR NONE loading times are nearly as quick as the DC + arcade versions
X-Men vs SF: If you have arcade sticks and your saturn was in a cabinet seriously most ppl would think it actually WAS the ARCADE even loading between matches is about 2-3 secs not even noticable(like cart speed)
The Saturn in my opinon is THE BEST CONSOLE EVER until the PSX2 came out(except maybe the NEO-GEO AES system, but they are too RARE nowadays and new games cost £200+uk pounds nowadays )
Saturn is a very affordable system for what you get for your money, its just that a LOT of the stuff is quite HARD TO FIND NOW :(
SJEEP If you come across ANY Jap saturn SF games GRAB EM (especially Streetfighter collection its worth a BOMB) get a Action Replay 5 in 1 cart and get a Saturn, if you are a SF Fan YOU WILL LOVE IT MATE
I will reccomend ANY CAPCOM GAMES THEY ARE ALL MINT even megaman, the saturn ports Blow the PSX ones out of the water and around the world into a small pot of Dust
SATISFACTION GUARANTEED
BTW: I forgot to mention that the saturn has built in memory so there is no need for memory cards and such(although u can get them but not easily)and the Pads have a nice layout simular to the Megadrives 6 button Pads but with L and R triggers as well.
anyway hope you found this info interesting and hope to hear you get yourself a piece of Gaming history !!!!!!
