View Full Version : CANNOT Go Online with Hardware: Online Arena
Despite the fact that I do not have a modded PS2, other than a flip-top lid, the game Hardware: Online Arena returns a DNAS Error when attempting to connect online. The copy I'm using is probably being used by some of you on these boards, and that is the copy by Team USA (Not DVDRip cos its a CD based game).
Obviously, it would appear that unless you actually are a Beta Tester, then you cannot go online with Team USA's copy.
I couldn't connect either. But I have read about that some DNAS enabled games also check if the media is original or a copy. Might be that it's only availible for beta-testers... as you said...

DNAS check for
- Original Media
- Modchips
- Cheat Devices
There is no way you can play online with any of these, I tried logging on in Everquest Online Adventures: Frontiers the beta with the DMS3 on, and it didn't allow me it gives me the -402 error.
So ace1 you are outta luck, and so far there is nothing we can do to play backups online that has DNAS...
Strange that this should be the case just with this game though, as I have back-ups of Midnight Club 2 NTSC, Tribes: Aerial Assault NTSC, Twisted Metal Black: Onine PAL & My Street NTSC, but can connect with those!
Oh, and before I got my proper copy of SOCOM (PAL), I had the NTSC version & could connect with that too.
DNAS is very strange.

DNAS only messes up hard in MMORPG's for now, as for other games its ok, for the moment only though.

MMORPG's are Massive Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game (long fancy name eh?)
Well those at the moment are the PlayOnline games such as Final Fantasy XI BETA and original in Japan, also EverQuest Online Adventures and the EverQuest Online Adventures: Frontiers Beta also has DNAS.
In some games such as SOCOM the DNAS arent that strong built like they do in these MMORPG's why? it's due to the fact that its a little bit expensive to be handling the servers with the DNAS, and since SOCOM is a free game, I think they dont really care about it, since they charge pay to play in the MMORPG's they handle the servers with DNAS you know the good stuff.
dont get MMORPG mixed up with the .hack Series, .hack only simulates a MMORPG.
