Can the PS 2 support DTS output? I thought that I can only support Dolby Digital 5.1 format using the digital cable?

can someone confirm this? Thx

Yes it can. Start a dvd movie, then press select, then go to audio options, then enable DTS.

The DTS compatible is written on the back of the DVD case or on the back of the PS2 console?

PS2 is DTS compatible. I could play another DVD I had in DTS. But when I put in The Fast And The Furious DVD it doesn't do DTS, just the regular Dolby Digital. But on the back of the DVD it says its DTS compatible.

Don't confuse yourself with the DTS format and Dolby Digital 5.1. Although the DVD have DTS track doesn't mean that PS2 will be able to decode the sound format. PS2 officially support DD 5.1 only.
A DVD player alone can support DTS and Dolby Digital output when they're connected to the amp..
