After having loaded the Xport PS2 CD I only get a black screen.

Ive tried using the AR2 cd but I have lost my dongle so thats not gonna help.

A blue screen with the message to 'waiting for command' should appear.

Try cleaning the CD and checking it for scratches

The CD is brand new so its not scratched at all. It just stops at a black screen after the PS2 logo and I hear it constantly spinning in my PS2. Ive tried placing vertically and horizontally.

Dont know what else I can do.

Just also want to know does it work with GS?? I dont have one but if I cant get it working so I may end up selling it. Also dont know if it can be asked in these forums but do these work with modchips?? These are legal where I live BTW (Australia).

Hmm, not sure why it would black screen. What mod you got?

Messiah on a v5 PAL.
Hopefully its not the Modchip. Ive tried booting with AR without the dongle, since I lost it and it seems that its not the PC software or the cable since it tells me that I need the AR dongle in. Its just I cant boot the PS2 software.

I assume we are talking about an original CD here. If you can, try it on another PS2 (a friends or the shop you bought it from)

Its the model no. of your PS2, unfortunately it wont load the older Datel/interact/blaze (whatever u know what i mean :)) stuff. Basically with each revision of the PS2 3rd party stuff (modchips, and "game enhancer" CD's etc. wont work).
But all is not lost, one of my systems is the same as ur's (Messy on a v5 PS2), and i suggest getting a hold of the AR2v2, d/l the Xport software from CodeJunkies and your all set....
Damn just reread ur post... U will need the dongle... sorry man :(
(Just for reference "PS2.-.Action.Replay.2.20.Hacked.by.DNKROZ.PAL.rar" this is the AR2 im using now).
After buying the v1.1, 1.3, 1.7, regoinX, megamem16, xtremeFM, xport, i realy cant be bothered buying this newer version...)
Sorry if this constitutes as a "warez" post, but mods feel free to edit it, or let me know and ill edit it, im just tryin to help ;)

I recently purchased a US X-Port, and about 50% of the time when I boot up the PS2, I get the red "Please Insert a Playstation 2 disc" screen. Then when I reset and retry, it generally loads fine. Weird!

Just wondering... how does Datel make PS2-bootable discs if it's not a Sony-licensed products? Why don't bootleg-makers do this to their DVDs?

If you're getting the RSOD (red screen of death) it's because of the known compatibility issues between the PS2 and the SharkPort/GameShark software. I used to work for Interact (now defunct) and this was resolved by a newer version of the disc. However Sony continued to put out a different version of the PS2 which had the same issue.

The best way to combat this is by simplying obtaining a GameShark v2 disc. It actually contains the SharkPort software and the Mem Card Manager software (for loading the 3rd party mem cards) all one disc. I believe the v3 software has the same features.
