Transfer Program needed.

Hello.

I must admit I do not have an Xport or a SHarkport or any Memory Card hacking devices BUT I have this multitap for the PSX that plugs into my PC as a Logitech Sidewinder gamepad. It also has a memory card slots and I inserted one of those psx memory cards that have 4 15-block memory cards in one and it worked. I can switch from the 1st memorycard to the 4th one (I can tell because there's a number that tells me from the memory card) but I dont know if I can load or upload or download to or from the memory card. I am thinking that it might also work with the PS2 memory card but since I do not have a PS2 memory card that has light and stuff that would let me know if it works if I plug it into my multitap, I really couldnt tell it would work. Sorry if i am confusing you. :p

So I need to know if there's a program that would let me atleast detect that there's a memory card plugged into my multitap thingy. Any help would be appreciated. If you guys want to know what Im talking about, I might be able to take a snapshot of my multitap that might make it better to understand. Thanks!!

Never come across anything to do what you want, not to mention that it definately will not work with PS2 cards :(

I see... well that's a shame. When i bought it, the guy said it's PS2 compatible... controller. memory card, everything. It sounded too good to be true. But I am happy of purchasing that because it lets me use 4 psx/ps2 controllers on my PC. And they are detected as separate individual controllers. Too bad the memory card slot seems pointless. I have tried it with running an emulator and inserting a memory card in the slot but saving a game with an emulator works differently. Thanks for your help gothi. :)

Anybody else know if there's a way through this? I need someone who knows programming to tell me if it is possible or not. I guess thats the only way i will get convinced.

ps2 memcards are not backwards comaptible with psx memcards. a ps2 dualshock 2 is backwards compatible, which explains why you are able to use them in a ps1 and on your adapter. you will not be able to use ps2 memcards with your adapter. if people know how to do this, they wouldnt need sharkports/xports and would go with the old dexdrive.

your adapter is a controller adapter for the pc; i wouldnt call it a multitap even though it can work with more than 1 controller. the memcard ports are there as a "dexdrive-like" device i assume, since you are able to use psx saves on it.

in short, the only way you will be able to transfer ps2 saves is via a sharkport/xport or using the network adapter. there are no methods that are known to read ps2 memcards without a ps2.

as for psx emulators, you need to convert the saves from the memcards to the appropriate memcard files to use with them.
