RetroArch has had it ups and down with the PS3 platform, while one of the original platforms to Run RetroArch as the project grew some of the attention on the PS3 was not quite there and caused various issues and bugs as the developer's had alot of platforms to maintain. However there has been alot of progress (while still more to do) overall most things are starting to stablize and more features are working as they should and more bugs as squashed. As various PS3 devs lead by Ezio have had the fly swatters and bug spray to rid the kinks but this latest version should be very playable but be warned could be certain bugs on certain cores. If you experiance and issue its best to report in the comments and the developers will see your comments and can only speed up the process so be very detailed as possiable, views and screens are a bonus, but again overall this is a very much improved release and one of the best for the PS3 we have seen in sometime.

The team that brought the Vita platform the incredible hack for firmware 3.60 know as HENkaku was a Homebrew Enabler that later evolved with the addition of TaiHEN and the Plugin / CFW framework on the exploit. While very easily to activate the exploit on 3.60 fw it would require re-execution of the exploit after each boot. However Team molecule has evolved the exploit to essentially become a Custom Firmware with a permanent solution calledEnsō (aka HENkaku Ensō). While there was an extensive beta-testing period, this is still an early release some bugs could be present, so use at your own risk, but at the same time this talented group believes this is stable enough for release after the beta test concluded. Checkout the latest details about this new evolution of HENkaku.

    Hey there Psx-Scene,

Kuriimu is a program that I designed to be a flexible tool for the purposes of fan translating games, apps, etc... and the flexibility is attained through plugins! (DLL files developed by programmers.)

    Want to talk about it?
If you would like to reach out to me to discuss Kuriimu and/or writing plugins for it, I can be reached most easily on the Fan Translators Inc. discord (which I run) here:

The Phat Twins - Separated at Birth
When the PlayStation 3 was released from its cage and released upon Japan and North America in Nov 2006, it featured near flawless backwards compatibility with PS1 and PS2 games - having the core PS2 hardware built in.

Four months later, Europe would be celebrating their PS3 launch in March of 2007 - but it was to be bitter-sweet, for they were to receive the second generation of PS3's that had slightly neutered backwards compatibility.

The internet was fast and merciless, and quickly condemned this new abomination as inferior, prompting many hardcore fans to pay obscene fees to import the "real deal" from far away lands.
As they say though...every cloud has a silver lining, and we here at psx-scene have discovered a little tidbit that the second gen system had up its sleeve; but first though, a little bit of back history.

Lets roll the clock back to the year 2000:
